A storybook escape

Celebrate World Book Day on 5th March during the National Year of Reading 2026 with our Tea & Tales Afternoon Tea at Boringdon Hall.

There’s no better place to honour timeless stories than the historic Boringdon Hall Hotel in Devon. On World Book Day this year, step into your very own fairytale as we mark the occasion with our Tea & Tales Afternoon Tea – a storytelling‑inspired experience served in the enchanting surroundings of the Great Hall at the heart of our Elizabethan manor house.

Settle into centuries‑old charm as you indulge in a selection of delicate sandwiches, handcrafted cakes, scones, and special themed sweet treats inspired by a beloved novel. Each creation is lovingly designed to transport you into the pages of classic tales, making this the perfect World Book Day celebration for book lovers and those seeking a magical escape.

But the story doesn’t end there. With this being the National Year of Reading 2026, our Tea & Tales Afternoon Tea isn’t just for one day – it continues until 30th April 2026, giving guests plenty of time to enjoy a whimsical afternoon in one of Devon’s most atmospheric manor settings, just moments from Plymouth.

Whether you’re celebrating World Book Day itself or planning a springtime treat, our Tea & Tales Afternoon Tea blends nostalgia, indulgence and the magic of storytelling into a truly memorable day.

Tea & Tales Afternoon Tea is served daily 1–4pm until 30th April.

Relax in the grandeur of Great Hall, and let the flavours, setting and creativity whisk you away into a world of imagination. Perfect for gifting, gathering, or simply treating yourself to a charming afternoon tea in Devon.
