From dramatic coastal paths to peaceful woodland walks, there is much to discover just moments away. We invite you to explore the diverse landscapes of Devon, with each route offering a unique way to experience the local area. On your doorstep
Plymbridge Woods | Approx 1.5 hrs | 2.92 mile (4.7 km)
Starting point: Plymbridge Woods National Trust Car Park (PL7 4SR)
An five-minute drive from Boringdon Hall leads you to the tranquil haven of Plymbridge Woods. From the car park, various paths meander through woodland alongside the River Plym. Follow the old railway track, a popular route for walkers and cyclists, which continues north for several miles towards Yelverton and the edge of Dartmoor.
Saltram House | 30 mins | 1 mile (1.6 km)
Starting point: Saltram House Car Park (PL7 1UH)
The grand Saltram estate is located just a 12-minute drive away. This gentle circular walk takes you through historic parkland and woodland, providing lovely views of the estuary and Blaxton saltmarsh. It is a perfect short stroll, particularly beautiful in spring.
Coastal escapes
Wembury Coastal Walk | Approx 1.5 hrs | 1.9 miles (3km)
Starting point: Wembury Beach National Trust Car Park (PL9 OHR)
Just a 25-minute drive from Boringdon Hall, the coastline at Wembury unveils a spectacular panorama of sea and sky. This walk is set within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and offers breathtaking views across Plymouth Sound. The path provides glimpses of historic coastal defences, while the shore below is perfect for rock pooling.

Starting point: Multiple car parks available in Plymouth City Centre
A mere 15 minutes away, the vibrant heart of Plymouth offers a delightful two-mile stroll along the Hoe. Gaze out over one of the world’s most perfect natural harbours, climb the iconic Smeaton’s Tower for an unparalleled vantage point, and continue towards the historic Barbican. Here, you can browse unique shops and restaurants, visit the National Marine Aquarium, or simply watch the boats go by.
